Most people have come to think of Cinco de Mayo as a time to throw a party to get drunk on tequila . This is not at all what Cinco de Mayo is truly about. The Battle of Puebla was fought in Puebla Mexico on May 5, 1862 during the second French intervention of Mexico. Though the Mexican forcers were vastly outnumbered by the French army, they still managed to win the battle. Though this did not prevent the French from invading, it did delay it for a time and boosted morale and national unity.
We are honoring the people of Puebla Mexico by offering a delicious night of Tortas, Agua Frescas, Cafe de Olla, Mescal specials and Polvorones!
